Each year, the Philadelphia Baseball Review consults with coaches and scouts across the region to develop a watch list of top talent within the various NCAA divisions.
The list below includes some of the top talent you should be watching this season at the Division 3 level.
Receiver: Justin Fogel (Penn State Abington, sophomore)
Was named the 2021 NEAC Rookie of the Year while posting a .412 average to go with three home runs and 25 RBIs. He also performed well with the glove, posting a .993 field percentage.
Receiver: Josh Crowding (Immaculata, sophomore)
He led the Macs last year with 44 hits, 11 doubles, three triples and seven homers to go along with a .454 batting average. Was named AEC Rookie of the Year last season.
Receiver: Zach Ray (Neumann, graduate student)
Led the Knights with a .447 batting average to go along with a .541 on-base percentage. He also posted a .992 field percentage and converted outs on six of ten stolen base attempts.
Infielder: Ryan McCarty (Penn State Abington, senior)
A career .402 hitter with the Nittany Lions, he is one of the region’s top offensive threats. His four homers last year to go along with 33 RBI while posting outstanding numbers on the mound as well, including a 1.69 ERA in 22 innings.
Inside player: Steven Priest (Cabrini, graduate student)
Named to the Atlantic East All-Conference first team averaging .418 with six home runs and 42 RBIs.
Inside player: Gil Peralta (Cabrini, senior)
Led the Cavs with ten dingers last year while posting a .388 batting average. He drove 36 RBIs and stole four bases.
Inside player: Alex Madera (Arcadia, junior)
The speedster hit .389 last season while leading the MAC with 25 stolen bases. He also received All-MAC Freedom First Team honors last year.
Inside player: Kyle Brex (Expander, junior)
Appeared in 25 games for Pride last season, hitting .388 with five doubles, one homer and recording 17 RBIs.
Outfielder: Anthony Boccio (widening, junior)
Hit .371 with 14 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 31 RBIs. He led the MAC in triples and was third in doubles and RBIs. He also stole six bases and enters 2022 with a lifetime average of .387.
Outfielder: Caleb Edman (Cairn, senior)
He hit .442 last season and posted a 1.332 OPS in 15 games for the Highlanders. He also stole nine bases.
Outfielder: Mack McKisson (Cabrini, senior)
Named AEC Co-Player of the Year last season, going .500 (48 for 96) while hitting three hits and recording 38 RBIs. He is a career .405 hitter for the Cavs.
Outfielder: Matt McHale (East, senior)
Led the Eagles with a .393 batting average to go along with 21 RBIs. He has posted two consecutive error-free seasons and has a career fielding percentage of .984.
Pitcher: Mike Valerio (Cabrini, graduate student)
The right-hander has limited his opponents to a .249 batting average. Recorded 35 strikeouts in 43 innings.
Pitcher: Nadell Booker (Arcadia, second year)
One of the best relievers in the region last season. Tossed 17 2/3 scoreless innings while holding opponents to a .109 batting average.
Pitcher: Luke Forunier (Arcadia, senior)
Made eight starts last year and was named MAC Freedom pitcher of the year. Was 5-3 with a 3.93 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings.
Pitcher: Ryan Crowell (Immaculata, senior)
Pitched a team leading 46 innings while posting a 3.91 ERA. Was 6-1 this season with two saves recorded
