March 14, Colombo: For the year 2022, Sri Lanka Tourism’s Travel Influencer Facilitation Program (also known as Blogger Visitor Program) has undertaken creative influencer promotional campaigns by covering travel experiences from all over the island, covering various regional territories.

In the first month and a half (until March 10, 2022), the Visiting Blogger Program (VBP) has collaborated with some of the multi-award-winning international travel influencers from around the world to popularize the reopening of the Sri Lanka destination for tourists. international.

One of the main objectives of these earned media promotions was to portray Sri Lanka as an “unforgettable vacationer” now open to international tourism and the local tourism industry’s focus on developing sustainable tourism by sharing economic opportunities linked to tourism between the actors of the local community. improve their lives by preserving unique natural and cultural values.

In addition, the influencers visited increased global awareness of Sri Lanka as a “safe holiday destination to travel” during the pandemic period by highlighting how welcoming Sri Lankans are and “how normal life is with measures safe and secure” put in place by the government.

Regions such as Anuradhapura, Matale, Kunckle Mountain Range, Gal Oya, Kumana, Pottuvil, Passikudah, Southern and Eastern Coastal Belts were some of the highlights of global influencer promotions.

Fifteen (15) internally recognized travel influencers representing nine (09) sourcing markets including UK, Germany, Norway, Belgium, USA and Spain were invited in February and early March. The total combined reach of these influencers is 5,291,333 and they are expected to create over 276 online posts about Sri Lanka spanning major social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc. Through these versatile media collaborations, Sri Lanka Tourism is expected to create massive global attention towards Sri Lanka over the coming months in 2022.
